We really love the use of space in the house, both in the open concept ground floor, and with the size of the bedrooms. We made a few minor changes with the interior walls, expanding the formal room downstairs, enlarging the master bedroom, and increasing the size of the family bathroom.

We actually got quite fortunate with the weather, only losing a partial day here or there. Things went like clockwork, with a few really smart strategies including building the roof entirely on the ground, and using a winch system to raise long sections of wall with only 2-3 people. We started the excavation and foundation in the middle of April, so along with the very heavy rains there was quite a bit of water on the ground. And while the gravity-fed drainage system did it’s job, we added the additional sump pump as well as tar and a new foundation barrier product which is really cool.
